Thunderbirds Win Third MFL Championship

BOSTON, MA - The Thunderbirds defeated the St Louis Sting to win their third MFL championship in franchise history. The victory comes after a nine year drought that consisted of several mediocre seasons and a lot of frustration. An excellent receiver group can be thanked for most of their success in 2021. Inconsistent play from the quarterbacks and running backs seemed to limit them from reaching their full potential but expanded playoff eligibility helped the Thunderbirds sneak in as a wild card. They would need to battle juggernauts in the Las Vegas Clowns and New Orleans Sharks before facing the Sting and ultimately winning it all. New England is going to enjoy this one for now but the 2022 season will be here before long and the mission will be to do whatever it takes to prove this was not a fluke.
