WARLORDS WON FOR THEIR SEASON OPENER
---
WARLORDS HAVE A CHANCE AT TWO STRAIGHT VICTORIES
Washington, DC - The Washington Warlords were victorious in a season opener for the first in their short history . They defeated their division rival New York 54 to 48. This first win of the season was a great team effort, Ben Roethlisberger threw for 2 Touchdowns and the wild Runningback combo of White and Graham rushed for 131 yds and 1 Touchdown. Wide Receiver Nate Burleson had 5 receptions for 60 yards and a Touchdown, unfortunately he is lost for the season. But not everything was golden in the first week, Tight End Todd Heap only had 1 rec. for 5 yds. And the Defense allowed a ton of points and recorded only 2 sacks. Coach Whisenhunt told us this week, that the Defense and Special Teams went through two extra practices this week in order to improve their tackling, a major problem in last weeks opener. This week the Warlords will face a much tougher opponent when they play division rival Philadelphia. Coming of a week in which the Longhorns put 86 points on the board and also sent Tom Brady home for the season. But Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger assured us, that Washingtons Offensive Line is at full health and that they will likely use 7 or even 8 man protection schemes this week. Coach Whisenhunt also made clear on Tuesday, after he was informed by the medical stuff about Nate Burleson season ending injury, that he will likely use 2 Wide Receivers and 3 Running Backs this week. Asked who would be the third man in the backfield behind Graham and White, he praised all his reserve Running Backs. But no matter who will start this week, the Washington Warlords are confident that they can upset the highly favoured Philadelphia Longhorns this week.
