The Clowns are back on top after cruising to their 4th MFL Championship in 5 years over the New Orleans Sharks Sunday, finally getting revenge for a disappointing loss in Fantasy Bowl II. For at least one more year, the Las Vegas Clowns are back to being the reigning MFL champions.

This was the week of the qb’s as Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning put on veritable clinics leading their ways into the championship for a rematch of Fantasy Bowl II. Peyton and the Clowns had to wait a whole year, but they finally have their revenge against little brother Eli and the Storm, who have been a thorn in their side ever since last year’s Conference Championship. They now gear up to battle the Sharks, who easily handled the young Terrapins on Sunday, for the first Fantasy Bowl rematch in MFL history.

Alex Smith may not have been spectacular in relief of the struggling Manning, but he stepped it up when it counted, leading the Storm to a 4th quarter comeback and a rematch with the rival Las Vegas Clowns in the White Conference Championship.

The playoffs are here. The hot story right now is the Piranhas, who have ridden a 7-game winning streak to the best record and first round bye in the Black Conference. They now become the 2nd expansion team ever to make it to the MFL playoffs, and the first ever to win their division and earn a 1st round bye.

Week 12 Recap

Hopefully everyone had a good Thanksgiving, took in a shit ton of food and some football. In the MFL, all the action was in the South this week, where the Sharks and Piranhas both put up dominant offensive performances, topping 100 points each for the first time this season, en route to their 6th straight wins, making them two of the hottest teams in the MFL right now.

Week 11 Recap

First off, I want to apologize to the Clowns for jinxing their perfect season. On second thought, I’m not sorry. No one wants to see someone else run the table. Just like everybody else, I’d like to be the first team to reach perfection, yet the closest I’ve come is stopping the Isotopes in MFL’s inaugural season.

The 2009 MFL season is well underway and we’re now starting to get some insight into this year’s playoff picture. As per usual, the Clowns are chugging along, and only 3 games away from completing their first ever undefeated season. They’re also challenging their own record for biggest point total differential between 1st and 2nd place, averaging over 100 points a week.

Week 15 Recap

Las Vegas’ four-peat will not be. It seems fitting that it was the Storm, who have been haunted by the Clowns like the Knicks were by Jordan’s Bulls or the Red Sox were by the Yankees, get to be the ones to put an end to the Clowns’ dominance. The Storm will now face-off against the expansion Outlaws in Washington next week for Fantasy Bowl VII.

Week 14 Recap

There was quite a storm brewing in Springfield this weekend. But the real Storm came in from Golden State and lit up the scoreboard to the tune of 86 points, which proved to be just enough to thwart the Isotopes’ heroic attempt at a comeback. As for the other Wildcard Playoff matchup, the Outlaws and Sharks both came out flat on offense and played out what proved to be a pretty ugly affair. Cutler and Gore were able to provide the necessary firepower though to move on to the Conference Championship game next week in Philadelphia.
