2019 Maniak Monthly Awards
By Anthony Calabria • Feb 18th, 2020 • Category: UncategorizedThe 2019 season brought a lot of change to the league, but in the end, it came down to Las Vegas and Springfield once again. And once again, it’s the Clowns who take home the title. Young stars Patrick Mahomes and Saquon Barkley got healthy and peaked at the right time to deliver another championship to Vegas. It certainly doesn’t look like the Clowns will be out of title contention any time soon, but the draft will give everyone another shot at figuring out the best way to beat them. However, the inflated salaries may complicate that for several teams.
Mahomes’ midseason injury cost him a repeat spot on the first team all-star roster, as Lamar Jackson emerged in his second year to become the league’s newest superstar QB. We also saw Christian McCaffrey take his game to a new level in Detroit, and at WR, Michael Thomas continues to break records year after year. There were several rookies who made themselves known and should be in contention for league honors for years to come.
